The Chef – A Word for 2016

images.jpeg“A chef was using a silver sifter, sifting, gently shaking, sifting ingredients of a MIX taken from a row of boxes in his Prep cupboard. The finer ingredients passed down into the bowl leaving few relatively large objects sitting in the sifter. These hidden objects, in comparison to the entire box of mix were few in number, but stood out clearly when revealed by the sifter. The chef picked them up out of the sifter and placed them strategically on the top of loaves of bread dough already in rising pans. He decorated the tops of the loaves with these prized ingredients that had previously been hidden in various boxes of bread mix in his prep cupboard.

He picked up each pan, turning it around to observe it, and he was smiling, pleased with what he was making to serve to his guests. Each of the pans were numbered on the end with a date and the year 2016.

What were these objects that the chef sifted out to use? They were hearts, diamonds and shields in various colors and sizes.”

This year, there are hidden people, embedded in the mix of the church, that will be sifted out, not to be discarded, but to be presented by our Holy Chef to the weak and the hungry. They are people who are flavored and molded by LOVE, by FAITH and by INTIMATE RELATIONSHIP with Jesus.

The motivation that has shaped them has been an intimate relationship with their Beloved that has developed love and faith in their very beings. And they had grown in size to remain after the sifting, while smaller diamonds, hearts and shields passed on back into the mix. The mix was not bad, it was poured back into the box presumably waiting for a future sifting.

This dream is another confirmation of what the Lord spoke to me in December about 2016. Part of what He said was, “This year will be A YEAR OF FAITH and A YEAR OF LOVE. Unpack things that have been packed up. Teach my people to KNOW ME instead of just acquiring knowledge of me and historical facts. For it is in knowing ME that they will be able to walk in true faith that is motivated by love. And in the darkening days, it is the people who KNOW ME that will releasing the light of the Kingdom of God, scattering that darkness.

In Mark 16: 14-20, we read: “Later He appeared to the eleven as they sat at the table; and He rebuked their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they did not believe those who had seen Him after He had risen. 15 And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. 17 And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; 18 they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.” 19 So then, after the Lord had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God. 20 And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word through the accompanying signs. Amen.”

I am reminded that without FAITH, it is impossible to heal the sick or cast out demons and set the captives free. And without FAITH it is impossible to please God.

Without LOVE, one will not choose to live for others over living to please self. And without an intimate relationship with God, true FAITH and LOVE are unattainable.

So then in order to preach the Kingdom of God; in order to speak the WORD and have the Lord confirming with signs & wonders following – one must believe.  And to believe, we need to know God! To KNOW God!

Do you want to make a difference in your world in 2016? Pursue intimacy with your Lord Jesus! There will be siftings of churches & many will be poured back into a box & put into the Prep Cupboard. But those individuals who have pursued intimacy, faith & love will be removed from the mix and served to the hungry by the Holy Chef.

The choice is ours every morning, every day. Do I want to do what pleases God today or what pleases ME? Who do I want to serve? Me or The Lord?  Beloved friends, let’s weigh our choices carefully. Have a blessed, prosperous, fulfilled & happy 2016!
